WITHOUT ANY DOUBT, THE MOST AWESOME NURSING STAFF ON THIS PLANET
Thank you for all the support, my mom recovered well and now she is at home doing well. Thanks to all the tech that helped her while she was in there.
My mom was there 3/17/2026 for 1 week during that week never used her personal CPAP for COPD which was on her nightstand as “they didn’t have an order”. She was seen by wound care nurse on 2nd night because she had severe rash on bottom. Was told her treatment and medication to use that was in her wardrobe. The next night the tech came in to change her for bed and had no clue what wound care Mom needed. I had informed them she had forgotten how to use silverware but could eat finger foods. She lost over 10 pounds. On 3/20 at noon I went in and informed them I wanted to transfer her and needed referral with her information sent ASAP because I was trying to get her moved that day. Info was not faxed until 6pm and all the info needed wasn’t sent. 0n 3/24 still didn’t have all info including CPAP order. They did not get that sent until 3/25 and I transferred her as their transport can’t take someone with dementia without someone with her. The only good thing i can say is the lady in PT was awesome with her and the tech that came in her room to change her for bed on 3/19 may not have known the orders but she listened to me and was very gentle with my mom. You could tell she cared.

Very un-oriented facility a lot of nurses and care givers have expired certifications out of date on a lot of their paperwork if the state were to come in the facility would be shut down a lot of the night shift workers are not working and nurses do not do their job to the fullest. Not satisfied

Update: After some time and experience with Cedar Creek, I’m changing my review to 4 stars. Cedar Creek has HEART. We were previously at NHC Sumner who dumped her into a psych hospital that totally wrecked her. I feel like I am working with a team of people who CARE. I’m learning as I go, the more input I have, the better her care gets. Most importantly, she is coming back from her drug induced lethargy because Cedar Creek listened, and are continuously helping her out of it. The staff is always friendly and competent which I can’t express enough what a difference that makes. My only grievances are minor but still annoying. As I said before, getting in or out after hours is still painful, as you have to find someone to unlock the doors in or out. Kudos for the security, but dang, why can’t we get our own code? Parking is also very hit or miss during the week. On weekdays I have a caregiver so I invent a parking spot then follow her out to take her parking spot if I need to. These things are minor, but still something that can easily be improved on. After going there every day for weeks this gets old. Otherwise I’d give them 10 stars out of five. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend. —- The staff is responsive and friendly for the most part. The biggest issue at the moment, but not the least, is getting in and out after hours. I was told the door bells go to the nurses station, then I was told none of the door bells work. I have to wait for someone to see me, or knock on the glass when I see someone. Another family was waiting when we got there once and we all knocked on the glass. Staff finally yelled loud enough for us to hear the door was unlocked, as there is no way to tell (day or night) if it is. A basic smart lock can assign codes, this is a ridiculous waste of time for staff and visitors. It’s an older facility and desperately in need of some upgrades, but it is very clean (though bathroom stinks despite multiple cleanings). I am very impressed with a vast majority of the staff, very friendly and attentive. We got off to a slow start, getting my mom out of bed didn’t happen for at least 5 days, she was there to get her strength up enough to go to memory care. After having been bedridden for 2 1/2 weeks at a psychiatric facility she was VERY weak, dehydrated, and needed hospitalization. Once released, my mom perked up much more than I expected. She was very responsive at the hospital and for 2 days at Cedar Creek, then went south very quickly. My mom has Alzheimer’s, so I can’t blame anyone per se. I am very distressed she was left in bed for 5 days before she was moved while the goal was to get her strength back to where it was prior to the psychiatric facility. Once she started getting into a very nice wheelchair she seemed to improve. I don’t see how she can get to memory care, even though we made it clear that was the goal, at all now. I don’t blame that entirely on Cedar Creek, but I do think they could have done more when she was more responsive and alert when she arrived. To be honest I would have liked more time to evaluate. Cedar Creek texted me and asked me to review, my mom is improving marginally every day. I can’t help but think she would be better if she were moved earlier, but it may very well be the nature of the beast. I will update as I learn more if applicable.
